The Pagosa Area Recreation Coalition brings together land managers, local governments, recreation groups, conservation organizations, businesses and community members to help shape the future of outdoor recreation across the Pagosa Springs region.
Our work is grounded in collaboration. By bringing different perspectives to the same table, PARC helps identify shared priorities, coordinate resources and advance projects that benefit the landscape, the people who live here and those who come to experience this remarkable place.

Our guiding principles shape PARC’s goals, priorities and actions. They help partners evaluate opportunities, refine proposals and pursue projects that offer lasting benefits for people, communities and the environment.
We work to conserve and restore connected ecosystems that support biodiversity, wildlife and long-term climate resilience. Thoughtful planning and responsible stewardship help ensure that forests, waterways, habitats and open spaces can thrive alongside recreation and other human uses for generations to come.
We support a diverse range of high-quality outdoor recreation opportunities that are accessible, inclusive and welcoming. Our work promotes responsible use, reduces impacts to natural resources and helps people enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of spending time outdoors.
We strengthen connections among agencies, organizations, businesses, recreation groups, residents and visitors. Through shared stewardship and cross-sector collaboration, PARC works to reduce conflicts, support the outdoor recreation economy, enhance community well-being and foster a strong sense of place.
The future of outdoor recreation and conservation depends on people working together. PARC provides a collaborative forum where partners can share knowledge, identify common ground and turn regional priorities into coordinated action.
Whether improving trail systems, protecting wildlife habitat, expanding access or helping visitors recreate responsibly, our goal is to create solutions that serve both the landscape and the community.
