Pagosa Springs, CO 81147
The Fourmile and Pagosa Peak area is a dramatic northern gateway to the Weminuche Wilderness. The popular Fourmile Trail climbs through forest toward a pair of waterfalls and continues into more demanding alpine terrain, while the Anderson Trail provides a steeper and more exposed connection for experienced backcountry travelers. Views open toward Eagle Mountain, Pagosa Peak and the surrounding San Juan Mountains.
Trailhead roads, stream crossings and high-elevation weather can all affect access. Choose a route that matches the group’s experience, start early for summer storms and check current Forest Service conditions before traveling beyond the waterfall corridor.
